What should I pay attention to if the measuring instrument is not used for a long time?
When measuring instruments are not used for long periods of time, if stored and maintained improperly, accuracy may decrease or even be damaged.
Storage environment
- Store in a dry and clean environment, with the temperature controlled at 20±5℃ and the humidity controlled at 45%~65%
- Avoid direct sunlight, heat and vibration sources
- Cover your equipment with a dust cover to prevent dust accumulation
energize regularly
Even if it is not in use, it is recommended to run it once every two weeks for no less than 30 minutes. Regular energization can prevent electrical components from getting damp and keep the performance of electronic circuits stable.
Guide rails and transmission components
- Clean the guide rail surface and apply anti-rust oil
- Manually move each axis regularly to prevent guide rails and screws from rusting
- For equipment that will not be used for a long time, it is recommended to move the workbench to the middle position to balance the stress on each component.
Optical system
- Cover the lens with a lens cap to prevent dust from falling in
- Place desiccant near the lens to prevent it from becoming moldy
- Do not touch the lens surface with your hands
Enable again
When reactivating after long-term inactivity, it is recommended to conduct a comprehensive inspection and calibration before performing normal measurements.
